A question about tense
Hi All,
I have a general question about using verbs in sentences.
I know the following sentences are correct (correct me if I'm wrong).
"The message is not displayed"
"The message does not display"
About the first one, if 'display' is verb (not adjective), then how could I use 'is not' before it ?.
About the second one, what object in the sentence performs the act of displaying or not displaying the action (display), the message itself ?

Hi. In the first sentence, displayed is the past participle of the verb display. Past participles sometimes function as adjectives.

I see, was I was missing is that past participle verbs sometimes function as adjectives.
