A Pronoun Problem
I'm having trouble deciding which pronoun to use in the following sentence:
Men of far higher status than his/he/him might never be granted the same honour now being offered so nonchalantly to him.
I believe the choice of 'his' to be correct, but it jars my ears, so I thought I'd check.

Yes, I like 'his' there. And I'd put 'him' after 'offer' instead of 'to him' at the end.
