Are these sentences correct:
1-I was told a lot to swim.
2-They told me a lot to swim.
3-I was told to swim a good deal.
4-They told me to swim a good deal.
Aren't the last two ambiguous:
Meaning a: I was told to do a good deal of swimming,
Meaning b: I was told a good deal to swim.
