A few corrections (f)
Can I say,
(a) They did not miss the chance to rest.
(b) The next morning, they saw many thousands of people packing the stadium like sardines.
(c) They enjoyed watching the march team.
(d) In the night, they were excited to witness the grandest event of the year / for this year / in this year.
(e) When the celebration had ended, there was a dazzling display of fireworks .

I see no problems. The only thing I would suggest is changing 'In the night' to 'During the evening'.
