A chaise of four

Hi, I'm reading Pride and Prejudice. In Chapter 1 Mr. Bingley arrives "in a chaise of four". Is it of four seats, four horses, or four wheels, I wonder? It'll be much appreciated if some relevant links are provided together with the answer. Thanks a lot!
