Hi teachers, This is for a listening comprehension exercise. The text is from a CD. Alex Dinon has escaped from prison a day ago. Felix and Adam are the detectives that have to look for him.
If this is what the students will hear: Felix and Adam did not get much sleep. They stayed in the office and slept between telephone calls. The phones rang often, but in the morning there was no news of Alex Dinon. The day went slowly. The phones rang again and again – but there was no news. ‘Where is he? What’s he doing?’ Felix said to Adam. ‘He’s hiding – perhaps with friends.’ Are these suitable questions to ask? 1. Why didn’t Felix and Adam rest very well the whole night? Because they were in the office. 2. Did they have a moment’s rest that night? Yes, they did. They rested between phone calls. 3. How much information was there about Alex Dinon the next morning? There was none./ There was no information. 4. What did Felix wonder? He wondered where Dinon was and what he was doing. 5. Did they know where to search for Dinon? No, they didn’t.
Thanks in advance.
