Hi
If i could have any job , I would have a job as a sailor.
In the above sentence, i know rhus is a second conditional. But i was taught that the form was
if , would
but in the above sentence the 'could have ' part confuses me. Any help to explain this woukd be great.

Anonymous But I was taught that the form was if , would But your sentence does have that form: If I could have any job , I would have a job as a sailor. could have is like were able to choose . have ~ choose in this sentence.
