The new Indian education policy was influenced by RSS

India will be implementing a new education policy that looks to redefine how learning is carried out in India.
The drastic changes such as increasing the funding of the schools, which currently stands at about 4 percent to over 6 percent of GDP, emphasis on Indian arts, languages and cultures, however, may have been as a result of a push by the Rashtriya Syayamsevak Sangh (RSS), which is the ideological font of the ruling party Bharatiya Janata Party’s ideological.

The new education policy passed

The Narendra Modi-led government has praised the new education policy, terming it as a turning point that will revolutionize the Indian education sector. The new education policy, according to the government, is a historic milestone that will enable easy access to education and ensure universal literacy for all adults before 2035.
While describing the passage of the new education policy, the RSS approved on how the policy’s wording describing what it aims to achieve in the education sector. They also said that the policy would help in instilling patriotism and respect for the Indian constitution, instilling pride in Indian people for their own country.

The RSS has been at the forefront, pushing for an education policy that is Indianized and calling for history lessons to be changed to reflect the Indian perspective.
Other changes that are expected in the new education policy will be a change of name of the education sector ministry from human resource development (HRD) ministry to education ministry. The push was also made possible by the RSS, who have long called for changes in the education sector.
They also pushed for the change in languages used for learning, emphasizing on the need to institute Indian learning as mediums of learning. With the passing of the new educaiton policy, languages such as Sanskrit, Pali and Prakrut will be used in teaching, a major win for the RSS.
They also called for the universal implementation of the new policy and urged the government to ensure that the curriculum is adopted even in Christian and Muslim schools. The RSS functionaries stated that the idea of the policy was to create a holistic approach to education and adoption by Christian and Muslim run schools to implement it as it was more flexible and would lead to the growth of students and employability in the future.
