In as much as she wanted to attend university far out of her state, she knew well that it would be expensive.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/articles\/2020\/bu-makes-top-10-list-of-universities-enrolling-more-pell-grant-students\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Federal Pell Grant<\/a> enabled her to attend Boston University, which led to the opening of many opportunities that she never imagined. The occasion also helped her to develop meaningful friendships that she still held dear to her heart.<\/div>\n<h2>Boston University students to receive education grants.<\/h2>\n<div>Boston University has received an appraisal from donors and philanthropists for enrolling learners like Hikima.\u00a0 The institution is placed 7th out of 128 members of the American Talent Initiative (ATI) for raising the Pell education grants funded students.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Boston enrolled 600 recipients of the grant in 2015-16, according to Kelly Walter, the admissions dean in charge of enrollment. Unlike other student loans, the Federal Pell Grant does not have to get repaid as it supports students from low-income families for their undergraduate studies.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>The American Talent Initiative, in which Boston University joined in 2018, is a group of universities and colleges that seek to add 50,000 more students enroll in 320 institutions by 2025. <\/strong>Most of the schools are members of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.englishforums.com\/news\/us-student-loans-doubled-in-10-years\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">American Talent Initiative,<\/a> and among its objectives is to oversee enrollment for undergraduates and to seek their eligibility for Title IV financial grant.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Boston&#8217;s university&#8217;s decision towards joining ATI came to show its commitment to expansion and access to students&#8217; opportunities. In 2019, the university increased its community work with community organizations while scouting for suitable students.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>It went on to match Boston University students who attended the programs with mentors and waived their fees for application. Jasper, a student beneficiary of the education grants, says that the Federal Pell Grant made his decision to attend Boston University cast on stone.<\/div>\n<h2>Education grants benefits to low-income families<\/h2>\n<p>The grant provided him tranquility and peace of mind for the aspiring legal practitioner. He is happy to note that his education does not alter his parent&#8217;s plans for retirement. <strong>Boston University plans to spend more $ 290 million towards education aid in addition to the already successful Pell Education grants.<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Fall students will be the first beneficiaries of the new directives for permanent US residents. The aid seeks to cover what families, scholarships, and loans can&#8217;t meet. Christine McGuire, Boston University vice president for enrollment, says the institution has made strides in the improvement of socio-economic diversification in recent years.
