What does it take to impress a Tesla CEO?<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

TESLA\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>– Last Sunday, Tesla CEO, Elon Musk responded to a random tweet asking him the following question:<\/span><\/p>\n

Do you still stand firmly on not requiring college degrees?<\/span><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The tycoon CEO directly answered the query with a\u00a0<\/span>“Yes.”<\/span><\/em>
\nElon Musk is a business tycoon who owns and manages SpaceX and Tesla<\/a>, and the Forbes’ Most Innovative Leader of 2019.<\/span>
\nDespite the high reputation his company has, Musk does not disregard talent just because an individual doesn’t have a degree or isn’t from a prestigious university.<\/span><\/p>\n

In an automotive and energy company like Tesla, we do not require any outrageous credentials; what we need are talent and exceptional skills.<\/span><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In comparison with the greats<\/span><\/h2>\n

Elon Musk was never an advocate of screening applicants through college names and college degrees<\/a>, and he always looks into the likes of Steve Jobs and Bill Gates as an example. Both Multi-millionaires didn’t get to finish college yet look at where they ended up now.<\/span>
\nIn an archive interview back in 2014 with a German publication, Musk also mentioned the following:<\/span><\/p>\n

You do not need to have a college degree, even a high school diploma to work in Tesla.<\/span><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

He does not discourage schooling<\/span><\/h2>\n

In an interview, Musk explained that a person who graduated from college does not automatically entitle him to do great things.<\/span><\/p>\n

Look at Oracle founder Larry Ellison. He didn’t graduate from college. But looking at his skills and drive for greatness, it should be a great idea to hire him.<\/span><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Despite being acceptant to applicants with no college degrees, Musk is a college graduate himself. He has finished his undergraduate degree in physics and economics at the University of Pennsylvania.<\/span>
\nMusk is not discouraging students from going to college. He is encouraging them to go to college and acquire useful skills that will help them in finding a real job. Once they are confident enough with the skills and can consider it exceptional, then they can jump in and impress the Tesla CEO and probably land a spot in the company.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
