{"id":27901,"date":"2019-12-24T12:00:15","date_gmt":"2019-12-24T12:00:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.englishforums.com\/news\/?p=27901"},"modified":"2019-12-24T12:00:15","modified_gmt":"2019-12-24T12:00:15","slug":"knowledge-channel-awards-7-ph-schools","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.englishforward.com\/news\/knowledge-channel-awards-7-ph-schools\/","title":{"rendered":"Knowledge Channel awards 7 PH schools for learning excellence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. recognized seven schools in the Philippines that are providing academic excellence.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Knowledge Channel Award<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Started in 2011, the Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc (KCFI) partnered with Bayan Academy, and Rex Bookstore has been selecting academically excellent schools in the Philippines to receive their Excellence in Educational Transformation Awards.<\/strong><br \/>\n<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.knowledgechannel.org\/eeta\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Excellence in Educational Transformation Awards (EETA) is a recognition awarded to educational institutions<\/a> that performed beyond expectations in providing transformative and innovative learning. The KCFI program belives that transformative learning is the key to improving the quality of education in PH schools.<\/span><br \/>\n<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The following criteria must be met to qualify for the prestigious award: School Efficiency, Teacher and Faculty development, Social mission, Learning effectiveness, Literacy rate, laboratory and facilities, and the innovation in the learning experience.<\/span><br \/>\n<strong>All in all, nine prestigious awards are being given away, with the coveted Oscar M. Lopez (OML) being the most reputable on the list. The Oscar M. Lopez award is given to the school with the best collaborative leadership in education.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Seven schools claim innovation in learning award<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>This year&#8217;s Knowledge Channel Foundation awardees were selected based on the exceptional innovations implemented by schools in terms of human resource management.<\/strong><br \/>\n<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The list includes the seven well-performing schools for 2019:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Alabat Island National High School<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"ql-indent-1\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Location: Alabat, Quezon<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"ql-indent-1\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Award: Most Transformative School for Learning Effectiveness and School Efficiency Award<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Tisa II Elementary School<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"ql-indent-1\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Location: Cebu City<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"ql-indent-1\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Award: Innovations in Learning Environment-Learning Spaces and Places and Innovations in Access to Education<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">University of Santo Tomas Senior High School<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"ql-indent-1\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Location: Sampaloc, Manila<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"ql-indent-1\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Award: Innovations in Quality Education-Education for the 21st Century<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Colegio de San Juan de Letran<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"ql-indent-1\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Location: Intramuros, Manila<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"ql-indent-1\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Award: Innovations in Quality Education-Learning<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Palusapis Integrated School<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"ql-indent-1\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Location: Munoz, Nueva Ecija<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"ql-indent-1\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Award: Innovations in Quality Education-Curriculum Design and Development and Learning Methodologies and Delivery Systems for Learning Effectiveness<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Babag National High School<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"ql-indent-1\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Location: Lapu-Lapu City<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"ql-indent-1\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Award: Innovations in Learning Environmental-Child Safety, Security and Sensitivity<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Schools Division of Quezon<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"ql-indent-1\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Location: Quezon Province<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"ql-indent-1\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Award: Innovations in Leadership, Governance and Management-Institutional Leadership and Direct Setting<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Key to success<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>According to Principal Gregorio Racelis of Alabat Island National High School,<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">We give all credit to the 20 percent increase in our National Achievement Test Mean Score to the implementation of our comprehensive value-based program.<\/span><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">AINHS was faced with several problems before Racelis took office. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.englishforums.com\/news\/education-in-the-philippines-low-asean\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The institution suffers from low NAT mean scores<\/a>, poor financial support from private institutions, high drop-out rate, and a high rate of teenage pregnancy.<\/span><br \/>\n<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"><strong>Racelis approached the problem with high devotion in establishing a good values foundation for the students, faculties, and even utilities of the school.<\/strong> He also engaged in local government and community support for the financial aspect of the school.<\/span><br \/>\n<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Even the Mayor of Alabat City, Fernando Mesa, admired the principals&#8217; dedication to improving the education system in AINHS.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">He inspired us by showing that it is possible to develop a good partnership between the government and the school in improving the education system in our city.<\/span><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"><strong>Principal Gumba from Tisa Elementary school also exhibited a great feat.<\/strong> Despite the physical difficulties their school has encountered due to calamities and low funding, she managed to rise up the school from the ground by encouraging parents, the community, private institutions to help by the essence of &#8220;<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">bayanihan&#8221;<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">. <\/span><br \/>\n<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The school transformation was credited to the joint efforts of the whole community in Tisa Elementary school.<\/span><br \/>\n<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Schools are looking forward to programs like this from the Knowledge Channel Foundation, the money the schools get from their awards can go a long way in helping them improve their facilities for the welfare of the students.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. recognized seven schools in the Philippines that are providing academic excellence.
