Quantum computation could transform the memory into a quantum superposition which is more complicated compared to its classical state.<\/span><br \/>\n<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The idea of quantum computing is entirely new, and the technology is still expanding. Benchmarking computers than can perform quantum calculations aren&#8217;t available until recently.<\/span><br \/>\n<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">A group of researchers from the University of Waterloo came up with a benchmarking tool for measuring the performance of quantum computers.<\/span><br \/>\n<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The system is called cycle benchmarking. It allows users to assess and compare the full potential of a computer when it comes to quantum computing.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Benchmarking Quantum computers<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The discovery made at the University of Waterloo allows experts to establish a standard for performance and scalability for quantum computers.<\/span><br \/>\n<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">According to Asst. Professor Joel Wallman of the University of Waterloo&#8217;s Faculty of Mathematics and Institute of Quantum computing:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">A consistent method of categorizing and improving quantum systems provides standardization on developing quantum processors. What the system offers is an outlined assessment of each platform available in the market so they can choose what suits them best.<\/span><br \/>\n<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Competition in the quantum computing field is pretty tough, and new platforms come out in the market. An excellent benchmarking system helps users to choose the right platform for them.<\/span><br \/>\n<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"><strong>Several companies that require large-scale computations are leaning towards quantum computers to do the tedious data processing they need.<\/strong> It means there is a good market for quantum computers in today&#8217;s tech era, and competition is inevitable. In fact, this is<a href=\"https:\/\/phys.org\/news\/2019-03-future-quantum.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> the prediction several months ago<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">We are excited because cycle benchmarking provides a much-needed solution for improving and validating quantum computing solutions in this new era of quantum discovery.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Benchmarking a quantum system show errors in computing. It is an indication of the processor&#8217;s execution of tasks and calculations given in the command.
