He tasked every teacher in the state to make slight changes in their teaching methods.<br \/>\nMakarim, who was recently appointed by Indonesian President Joko Widodo, had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.englishforums.com\/news\/makarim-fix-indonesia-education\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">promised<\/a> to rebuild the country\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.englishforums.com\/news\/indonesia-education-system-complex\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">education<\/a> sector. He had also expressed his commitment to restructuring then reviving the education system.<br \/>\n<strong>Nadiem Makarim\u00a0demand from the teachers includes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Stimulate class discussion, not only listening.<\/li>\n<li>Give a chance for students to teach in class.<\/li>\n<li>Initiate a social project that involves all class members.<\/li>\n<li>Find talent in students who are lacking confidence.<\/li>\n<li>Offer\u00a0help\u00a0to teachers\u00a0who\u00a0are in need.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The former CEO of Gojek asked the teachers to enact these demands as it would improve the learning and development of the students.<br \/>\nNadiem after making his demand added reassuring words saying:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I won&#8217;t make promises I cannot keep. Change is a difficult thing and full of discomfort. However, one thing that I can be sure of is that I will fight for the freedom of education in Indonesia.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>He added that enabling students to initiate social programmes would boost their confidence and help them find their talents.
