The statement of cooperation was signed when the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Leeds Professor Hai-Sui Yu visited India.<\/b><br \/>\nThe four Indian Universities are the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, Indian Institute of Technology Madras, SRM Institute of Science and Technology Chennai and Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology Patiala signed Memorandum of Understanding with Leeds University for diverse academic partnerships.<\/p>\n<h2><b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Collaboration with Indian universities&#8217; global impact<\/span><\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Vice-Chancellor expressed high expectations on the MoU\u2019s signed with the prestigious Indian Universities. <strong>He believes the partnership with the Indian Universities will have a global impact, especially with research and collaborative projects.<\/strong> He said,<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We are very happy to sign three agreements with prestigious Indian institutions and organizations. These collaborations will enable the development of major projects that will take research to a higher level with global impact.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The response:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our immediate goal is to establish research links and encourage student exchange between India and UK drawing talent and building synergies between the two countries. We welcome the UK Government\u2019s new announcement reinstating the two-year post-study visa for international students which will make a real difference to Indian students looking at studying in the UK and encouraging more talented Indian students to choose the UK to study.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All the agreements underscore the University of Leeds\u2019 commitment and continued focus on developing purposeful partnerships with the Indian institutions.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/indiaeducationdiary.in\/the-university-of-leeds-signs-mous-with-four-leading-institutions-of-india\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Professor Hai-Sui Yu<\/a> hopes more Indian students welcome these partnerships, and enroll with UK Universities, especially with the newly approved <a href=\"https:\/\/www.englishforums.com\/news\/uk-new-visa-policy-delights-students\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">two years UK visa.\u00a0<\/a><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta collaborated specifically with the Leeds University Business School. The Indian University aims to develop their graduate and doctoral courses with this partnership. It is also planned that the collaboration will give scholars opportunities to visit the counterpart for research activities and joint planning of conferences and seminars.\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<strong>Also, the partnership of Leeds University with SRM Institute of Science and Technology Chennai drives towards having several joint projects, like conferences, workshops, and seminars. The exchange of faculty and students are ways both Universities will benefit from the collaboration.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Collaboration with Indian universities include scholarships<\/span><\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the other hand, the Indian Institute of Technology partnership with Leeds University will be extended by three years. <strong>The extension will advocate for closer collaborative activities in academics through the exchange of faculty and students.<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The MoU signed between Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology Patiala with the University of Leeds focuses on the Chemical Engineering department. The agreement states that students from each of the universities offering a four year BE Chemical Engineering program will study in the two Universities, two years each. The students from the Indian University will be awarded degrees from Leeds University at the end of the four-year Chemical Engineering program.\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other benefits of the partnership between the two Universities include a \u00a33,000 to \u00a35,000 scholarship available to students in the department and collaborative research projects, joint conferences, seminars, workshops and other academic interaction meetings along with an exchange of faculty and students.<\/span><br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Four Indian Universities have entered into agreements with the University of Leeds to collaborate on research, projects, graduate and Ph.D. studies.
