Open to all female students pursuing specified honours degree courses in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.  Details:<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/xFhjOPAam3\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/t.co\/xFhjOPAam3<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/8rte811naD\" target=\"_blank\">pic.twitter.com\/8rte811naD<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; TU Dublin Computer Science (@tudublincompsci) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tudublincompsci\/status\/1169570412201676805?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">September 5, 2019<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><br \/>\n<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">One of the program\u2019s beneficiaries is Hannah Bayne from the University of Alberta, currently in her first year of a degree in the Science field.<\/span><br \/>\n<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">What I notice is the lack of women in the higher positions within the university. This semester I\u2019m lucky to have a female professor in my astronomy course. But the rest of the other courses available have male professors.<\/span><br \/>\n<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Out of the 10 classes Bayne has for this year, she only has two female professors in it. This is an example of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sulzer.com\/en\/shared\/news\/2019\/04\/09\/12\/32\/scholarship-for-women?utm_medium=social&amp;utm_source=twitter.com&amp;utm_campaign=2019_sulzer_social\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">scarcity of women professionals<\/a> in the field of sciences.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Empowering women as science leaders<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>WISEST is not only focused on empowering women to take up unconventional fields to them as science and tech but also for men to try their skills in industries dominated by women like nursing and nutrition.<\/strong><br \/>\n<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Milan Cuthbert, a former WISEST beneficiary and now spending time volunteering with the program shared,<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The program\u2019s advocacy is super important. Diversity is what drives change and innovation, getting people into areas to bring a different perspective.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The program has been in operation for 38 years now, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.englishforums.com\/news\/financial-education-digital-payments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">opening opportunities to young people<\/a> that might haven\u2019t considered at first.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">One of the aspiring stories of the said program is from one Grade 11 student who went to the summer research two years ago. The student worked on one of the engineering labs along with one of the programs experienced investigator. He encouraged the student to read more and follow up on her work with more creative ideas meant for research work.
