{"id":22661,"date":"2019-09-26T08:16:05","date_gmt":"2019-09-26T08:16:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.englishforums.com\/news\/?p=22661"},"modified":"2019-09-26T08:16:05","modified_gmt":"2019-09-26T08:16:05","slug":"eaw-helps-college-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.englishforward.com\/news\/eaw-helps-college-students\/","title":{"rendered":"EAW helps college students pay tuition fees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Education at Work (<\/b><a href=\"http:\/\/educationatwork.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>EAW<\/b><\/a><b>), a not-for-profit organization, has announced that it will be helping eligible college students who work 16 or more hours weekly, with financial aid towards paying their tuition fees.\u00a0<\/b><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The EAW initiative aims at providing college students with work opportunities by serving as the link between higher education institutions and business owners.\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<b>The main idea behind EAW\u2019s work is to allow college students the opportunity to work in a field relevant to their studies, while also helping out with the expensive college and university tuitions.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> This is hugely beneficial for students, as they are not only securing additional funding for paying their tuition but gathering valuable practical experience on the job.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">College students and debt<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unfortunately, the student debt situation in the United States is becoming increasingly worrying. College students are facing significant challenges when it comes to paying off their student debt, as tuition fees for higher education in the country have been continuously rising over the past several years.\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<b>Currently, the total student debt owed in the United States amounts to more than\u00a0 $1.6 trillion, which is spread over no more than 45 million graduates.\u00a0<\/b><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">University and college students in <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.englishforums.com\/news\/young-adults-macon-student-loan-debt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Macon, Georgia<\/a>,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are the ones struggling with the highest amounts of student debt out of all states in America. Unfortunately, Macon is not the only county where students and families are struggling with the unbearable amount of student loan debt they accumulate.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Work and study<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While EAW has set a minimum of 16 working hours during the week for students to be eligible for financial aid, this is not the only requirement.<\/span><br \/>\n<b>In order to be a successful participant in the program, any college student should maintain a grade point average of at least 3.3.\u00a0<\/b><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This EAW initiative is going to be very helpful for students all over the United States, as the student debt crisis is worsening every year.
