This has been instigated by various mental conditions, such as depression and anxiety, and this hinders their college preparedness<b>.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<h2><b>Mental preparedness is crucial<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><b>Parents and society have been <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/rhscommoner.com\/1125\/news\/students-feel-pressure-to-go-to-college\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>pressuring<\/b><\/a><b> students to join colleges as this is a crucial avenue of having a successful life. <\/b><br \/>\nThis has proven to be detrimental as students\u2019 overall readiness and mental health for college have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jedfoundation.org\/psychiatric_times_the_crisis_in_college_and_university_mental_health\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">substantially dropped<\/a> in recent years.<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The lack of adequate college mental preparedness has made many students suffer. For example, in the 2017-18 school year, about 179,964 students were treated for mental health issues. Notably, this was an increase from 161,014 students previously for a 12.5% increase.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Lack of mental preparedness in 20%<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><b>Mental health issues have been inevitable in college students. According to statistics, 1 in 5 of them seeks mental health treatment while on campus regularly.\u00a0<\/b><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some depressed students have resulted in missing classes and not incorporating amicable time into their studies. Failure becomes inevitable, and this worsens their mental health conditions.\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the other hand, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) has been witnessed in some students, and this shows a dire situation.\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<b>Students can develop mental preparedness for college by amicably managing their lives and determining their purpose. They should also not shy away from seeking help.<\/b><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Conversely, some incredible efforts are being made to instigate mental awareness. For instance, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a group of student activists managed to convince <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.englishforums.com\/news\/oregon-students-mental-health-days-off\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the education regulatory body in Oregon<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to introduce a law, which will allow students to benefit from free of school days if they are experiencing mental health problems.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Statistics show that students mental preparedness is diminishing and this raises substantial concerns.
