Higher Education takes a crucial role in the Ministry of Human Resource and Development of India’s \u201cNational Initiative for School Heads and Teachers Holistic Advancement (NISHTHA)\u201d<\/em> program. This aims to provide over 4.2 million teachers in India the in-depth training.<\/strong>
\nThere is an upcoming revamp on India’s education policy, steps to heighten the level of higher education<\/a> and a call for immediate action.<\/span><\/p>\n

New Education Policy on for Higher Education<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

After the submission of the Draft for National Education Policy of 2019, by the K. Kasturirangan committee; the new policy is expected to launch by November this year.<\/span>
\nAlso, the ministry launched the \u201cShagun Portal<\/em><\/a>\u201d. This initiative puts the education on a higher level technologically speaking by creating a synchronized educational online system for all websites and online portals under the Department of School Education and Literacy in the Government of India.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal of the Ministry of Human Resource and Development came up with the name from two deriving words, \u201d<\/span>Shala\u201d<\/span><\/em>\u00a0which means schools and\u201d<\/span>\u00a0Gunvatta\u201d<\/span><\/em>\u00a0which means quality. This portal is expected to enhance the availability of information with related schools by having an interconnected junction of various website data into one single platform.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

What is Shagun Portal?<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

According to the ministry, the connected chain of online data consists of 19,000 various organizations affiliated with the National Council for Teacher Education, websites from 1,200 Kendriya Vidyalayas, 600 Navodaya Vidyalayas, 18,000 other Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)-affiliated schools, and 30 State Councils of Educational Research and Training (SCERT).<\/span>
\nThe portal provides easy access to report cards from 15 lakh(hundred thousand) schools all around India. The portal is also looking to integrate 92 lakh (92,000) teachers and ten million (10M) students in the system.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

On top of this, with the use of this portal, all needed information and data that is school-related within India can be easily accessed by parents, heads of the schools, teachers, students, policymakers, education officials, and the general public. It can provide useful information on school availability, navigational directions, and other detailed school information.<\/span><\/p>\n

Other agenda<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Also, a part of the technological advancement is that under the National Mission on Education through the help of the Information and Communication Technology, the National Digital Library of India project has now built a virtual gateway for learning resources. Around 30 million digital resources are made available through digital libraries with more than 5 million students as active members.<\/span>
\nAll of these are on a process of improvement and synchronization. Everything is expected to be fully functional in five years at the most. A very good future to come for the Education system of India.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
