However, in 1998, he founded the now internationally famous gaming and entertainment giant Tencent.\u00a0<\/b><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At first, the company was small, located in one of the most deprived areas of the city, but soon it attracted international support and quickly started growing to its current status as a leader in the industry.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tech capital of China tanks to WeChat and Tencent<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><b>Transforming a city from a mere village to the tech capital of a whole country is not an easy task.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> While it is true that technology is entering every aspect of our lives, from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.englishforums.com\/news\/fda-blockchain-technology-medical\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">medicine<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.englishforums.com\/news\/spotlight-digital-education-for-schools\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">education<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the transformation of a whole city is not something that happens overnight.\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<b>Tencent became globally famous after developing <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/web.wechat.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>WeChat<\/b><\/a><b>, a social media and messaging platform, which became widely popular all over China.<\/b><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, Tencent is not the only factor behind Shenzhen\u2019s development as the tech capital of China.
