{"id":20417,"date":"2019-08-28T14:24:50","date_gmt":"2019-08-28T14:24:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.englishforums.com\/news\/?p=20417"},"modified":"2019-08-28T14:24:50","modified_gmt":"2019-08-28T14:24:50","slug":"sex-education-will-harm-children","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.englishforward.com\/news\/sex-education-will-harm-children\/","title":{"rendered":"Sex education: RSS affiliates believe it will harm children"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>According to an educational organization with close ties to the <\/b><b>Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (<\/b><a href=\"http:\/\/rss.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>RSS<\/b><\/a><b>) paramilitary volunteer group, sex education in Indian schools will have an adverse effect on students.\u00a0<\/b><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the government received a draft proposal entitled<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u201cThe National Education Policy,\u201d which recommends that school curriculums for secondary schools and above should include mandatory sex education.\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<b>According to the officials compiling the proposal, it is essential that students receive basic knowledge when it comes to sexual relationships.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> This includes lectures on topics like consent, family planning, protection and safety, and sexually transmitted diseases.<\/span><br \/>\n<b>However, an RSS affiliate focused on educational causes has expressed concerns that the introduction of mandatory sex education will have a negative impact on children&#8217;s psyche. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas (SSUN) organization, it is better to make counseling available to all interested children, but not force mandatory classes on everyone.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sex education is important<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><b>While sex education has always been a controversial topic, it is important that children are aware of the basic principles they have to follow to keep themselves safe.<\/b><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In an age where concent and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.englishforums.com\/news\/mit-apologizes-for-800k-epstein-grant\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">crimes of a sexual nature<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are openly discussed, the SSUN should probably reconsider their firm stance on the topic of sex education.<\/span><br \/>\n<b>Indeed, mandatory classes may not be necessary; however, all children, especially the ones entering puberty, should be aware of the correct ways to protect themselves when having sexual relationships.<\/b><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In contrast to India, the United Kingdom has been actively working to introduce equality and sex education throughout public schools.
