{"id":20406,"date":"2019-08-28T12:58:14","date_gmt":"2019-08-28T12:58:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.englishforums.com\/news\/?p=20406"},"modified":"2019-08-28T12:58:14","modified_gmt":"2019-08-28T12:58:14","slug":"educators-pathfinders-climate-crisis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.englishforward.com\/news\/educators-pathfinders-climate-crisis\/","title":{"rendered":"Educators: Pathfinders for climate crisis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>According to Iain Patton, Chief Executive Officer of the Environmental Association for Universities and Colleges (EAUC), schools and higher education institutions should make climate crisis a fundamental part of their curriculums.\u00a0<\/b><br \/>\nMr. Patton added that it is essential for universities to become proactive and organize courses and campaigns regarding climate and environment problems; not only survey aftermaths of climate change but to forge ahead and mitigate future risks.<br \/>\nThis is actually long overdue as a recent <a href=\"https:\/\/report.ipcc.ch\/sr15\/pdf\/sr15_spm_final.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report<\/a> by the United Nations warns that the Earth will soon reach its peak point by an additional one degree and a half (1.5oC).<br \/>\nThe saddening news that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.englishforums.com\/news\/amazon-rainforest-fire-up-social-media\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Amazon rainforest is burning<\/a> has been circulating media for several days now.
