{"id":20168,"date":"2019-08-23T09:56:29","date_gmt":"2019-08-23T09:56:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.englishforums.com\/news\/?p=20168"},"modified":"2019-08-23T09:56:29","modified_gmt":"2019-08-23T09:56:29","slug":"30-percent-enrolment-rate-universities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.englishforward.com\/news\/30-percent-enrolment-rate-universities\/","title":{"rendered":"30 percent enrolment rate in higher education is the latest target of the UGC for 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>The University Grants Commission (<\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ugc.ac.in\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>UGC<\/b><\/a><b>) of India has announced that they are currently looking to achieve a thirty percent (30%) enrolment rate in higher education institutions in the country by 2020.<\/b><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Currently, the enrolment rate of the country is a little over twenty percent (25.4%); however, the UGC is going to aim to achieve thirty percent (30%) by the end of next year.\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<b>The gross enrolment rate is the percentage of young adults (between eighteen and twenty-three years old) who are currently attending a higher education institution.\u00a0<\/b><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The UGC will also be actively working towards improving the quality of education offered <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">by higher education institutions, in order to help with boosting the number of attending students.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Enrolment rate and student-teacher ratio<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><b>The enrolment rate and the student-teacher ratio are some of the most important statistics educators and governments are monitoring to get an idea of how the educational system is developing.\u00a0<\/b><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">While the number of enrolled students in Indian schools has been rising, which is an uplifting tendency, the student-teacher <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.englishforums.com\/news\/low-student-teacher-ratio-india\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">ratio<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> in the country is one of the worst globally.
