\nIn an attempt to make the region an international research and development hub, the Prime Minister of the UK has decided<\/a> to introduce a fast-track visa process to attract the cream of the crop researchers and scientists from around the globe. <\/span>
\nMoreover, Johnson has also agreed to quash the applicant limit imposed on the Tier 1 visa.<\/span><\/p>\n

Australia-based immigration policies<\/h2>\n

The renewed immigration system is firmly based on Australia\u2019s existing point-based immigration rule, which prioritizes certain professions and occupations according to the country\u2019s demands.\u00a0<\/strong>
\nA move that marks a stark contrast<\/a> to Theresa May\u2019s administration, which had enforced stringent immigration policies, <\/span>Johnson clarifies that the UK will not dissuade anyone from applying for a Tier 1 visa.\u00a0<\/span>
\nWhen speaking at the Culham Science Centre in Oxfordshire, Johnson reported that for the UK to have a promising future in science and research, the current government will do whatever it takes to make sure that they have the best and the brightest minds from around the world.<\/span>
\nAs a result, under the revamped policy, the Home Office will do away with the 2000-applicant limit imposed on Tier 1 Exceptional Talent Visas and also increase the number of universities and institutes that sponsor applicants.<\/strong>
\nTo speed up the settlement process,\u00a0there will be no requirement of possessing a job offer letter before entering the country.<\/span><\/p>\n

UK supports researchers and scientists<\/h2>\n

Johnson\u2019s initiative to boost scientific development in the region is being viewed as a reflection of his senior-most advisor\u2019s views, who has been forthcoming about his support for STEM professionals; scientists, and mathematicians in particular. <\/span>
\nWhile working for the Department of Education, Cunnings insisted on offering free education to \u201cgifted\u201d mathematics students and help them turn the country into a powerhouse of the enlightened.<\/span>
\nMeanwhile, Secretary of State for the Home Department, Priti Patel, believes that the new points-based system will help the country analyze the focus areas for intellectual contribution.<\/strong> Not only that, but it will also uphold the UK\u2019s image as a breeding ground for technological innovations and developments, she affirms.<\/span>
