What is more worrying to directors is the <\/span><b>cuts in school curriculums have made graduates underprepared<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Professionals in the theatre industry first started noticing negative changes when the English Baccalaureate rating system was introduced in 2010. Some also add that <\/span><b>students in private schools are getting significantly more exposure to culture,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> which makes art available only to the elite. Casting directors notice that privately educated candidates are more successful, as they have a broader knowledge.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Arts education is underfunded\u00a0<\/span><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In recent weeks, parents and teachers across the United Kingdom have also expressed concerns that art programs in public schools are underfunded. For example, <\/span><b>recent arts education <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.englishforums.com\/news\/wales-budget-cuts-parents-pay-for-music\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>budget cuts<\/b><\/a><b> in Wales have forced parents to pay for their children&#8217;s music classes.\u00a0<\/b><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Unfortunately, the underfunding of arts programs and curriculums means that the <\/span><b>cultural life in the whole country is under threat.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Cultural events and projects are becoming less available among students in public schools.\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">According to a Primary Colours <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/fabians.org.uk\/publication\/primary-colours\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">report<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> published in January, <\/span><b>more than sixty percent of teachers in primary education say that the amount of art classes has dropped significantly <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">since 2010.
