{"id":18768,"date":"2019-07-25T11:38:00","date_gmt":"2019-07-25T11:38:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.englishforums.com\/news\/?p=18768"},"modified":"2019-07-25T11:38:00","modified_gmt":"2019-07-25T11:38:00","slug":"oregon-students-mental-health-days-off","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.englishforward.com\/news\/oregon-students-mental-health-days-off\/","title":{"rendered":"Oregon passes law to give students mental health days off"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A group of student activists has managed to convince the education regulatory body in <\/span><b>Oregon to introduce a law, which will allow students to benefit from free of school days if they are experiencing mental health problems.\u00a0<\/b><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">According to students, schools must start recognizing the mental health issues pupils deal with every day. <\/span><b>The new law outlines a plan to give students anywhere between two and five days off of school if they are having concerns about their mental health.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> These days off are cleared every three months, which means that students will be able to get about fifteen days off for the whole school year.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">There is an increasing necessity for such action in Oregon, as this is one of the states with the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/news\/us-news\/new-bill-allows-oregon-students-take-mental-health-days-n1032141\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">highest rate<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> of suicide among young adults.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Oregon, a leader in mental health care<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Educational bodies in Oregon are on the right track by accepting this new law, as <\/span><b>mental health problems like depression and anxiety are taking over schools all over the world.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">South Korea is one of the places where there is almost a crisis among students, as mental health issues are on the rise.
