{"id":18324,"date":"2019-07-09T14:39:44","date_gmt":"2019-07-09T14:39:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.englishforums.com\/news\/?p=18324"},"modified":"2019-07-09T14:39:44","modified_gmt":"2019-07-09T14:39:44","slug":"malta-employed-university-graduates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.englishforward.com\/news\/malta-employed-university-graduates\/","title":{"rendered":"Malta with the largest amount of employed university graduates in the EU"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">According to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/eurostat\/statistics-explained\/index.php\/Employment_rates_of_recent_graduates#Employment_rates_of_recent_graduates\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">research<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> released y the European Commission, <strong>Malta holds the record first place for university graduates who are successfully employed after the completion of their tertiary education.<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Researchers found out that the <strong>employment rate for recent graduates in Malta is close to ninety-seven per cent (96.7%)<\/strong>, while the European Union average is only about eighty-five per cent (85.5%).<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This is one of the highest employment rates recorded in the history of the European Union. For comparison, <strong>the EU average has increased by an insignificant half percentage point compared to 2017<\/strong>, and the highest ever average for the union was in 2008 at eighty-nine per cent (89.6%).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Employment and continued education in Malta<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">An important distinction has to be made when it comes to the employment of university graduates in Malta. In fact, <strong>most of the students between twenty-four and thirty years old managed to secure a job.<\/strong> However, the data is a little different for younger students, between eighteen and twenty-four years old. As it turns out,<strong> Malta has one of the highest rates of drop-out students in the European Union.<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Considering this, only <strong>the most ambitious and motivated students manage to pull through the first two years of tertiary education.<\/strong> This trend might serve as an explanation for the impressive employability of tertiary education graduates in the country.\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Close behind are countries like the <strong>Netherlands and Germany, both with ninety-four per cent of graduates in employment.<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Germany has also recently entered in a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.englishforums.com\/news\/vocational-education-for-strengthening-the-sino-german-ties\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">joint project<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> with China to boost vocational education as well.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>According to research released y the European Commission, Malta holds the record first place for university graduates who are successfully employed after the completion of their tertiary education.
